The Felix Helix

Probably not.

Giles has been working on getting the backyard in shape. Hopefully we’ll have grass in the front and a vegetable garden in the back. He’s been putting in a lot of man-hours turning the soil and digging up some of the biggest weed roots I’ve ever seen. So far we’ve managed to get grass sprouting on one side… not so much on the other.

Felix loves the backyard. He mostly loves watering things, but Giles got him planting things too. He put the seedlings in the holes and then had to “tuck-tuck” them in with the dirt. Sadly, he wasn’t so great at not stepping on them afterwards. Oops.

Trains. Trains. Trains. Maybe someday Felix will have some new hobbies to report, but that day is not today.

We got this for the cats to sleep on/scratch instead of our couch. Cat toy, jungle gym… same difference.

Giles has been taking Felix to the playground on the way home from daycare to wear him out a little. Also, because when he doesn’t, Felix whines about the “whees” (slides).

He’s kind of funny. He goes up to random kids and says “Hi friends! Let’s go!”. At least he knows this girl – friend from daycare.

Now that the weather is finally warming up, Felix has been out exploring Fort Greene Park. Besides lots of squirrels and “chickens” (pigeons to the rest of us) to chase, there are also loads of trees for him to climb – aka walk up while Giles lifts him. It’s super cute.

Ah, Felix. Someday I’m going to have a hard time deciding just which embarrassing picture to show his future mate.

Underwear = check.
Mommy’s shoes = check.
Satin cape = check.
Cheese face = check!

Felix is growing like a weed and talking up a storm. I’m growing – less like a weed and more like a puff pastry. The only one not getting bigger around here is Giles.

Felix is mildly obsessed with the cats lately. He’s been chasing them around the house and going “I gotcha!!” when he corners an unlucky one in a closet. He thinks it’s hysterical. The cats… not so much.

Felix’s little brother is still cooking. His working title is Voldemort (“he who shall not be named”) because we can’t decide on a name. If he comes too early his name well be Voldemort. He may be as yet nameless, but he’s definitely starting to make his presence known. Here’s a progress shot.
