The cat’s gotten a bit more… brazen with both the baby and the baby gear. He’s moved from the storage (“cat holder”) section of the stroller, to sleeping in the main cabin. Baby already on the boppy? No problem. Fuzz will share. Is that Wasabi Pod Bouncer for the baby? No, you must be mistaken, that’s the CAT bouncer chair. And that’s not a rattle – it’s clearly a cat toy. At least he’s not jumping in the crib to steal baby toys from the sleeping baby (yet).
Herman and Gretchen sent over an infant stimulation mobile. It may actually be an over-stimulation mobile. I have to take it off the crib if I want him to sleep because he can’t take his eyes off it. I guess it’s the movement + the shapes, because just the shapes in the stimulation book we have are not nearly as exciting.

Due to his newfound head control, Felix is now allowed to face out while (or whilst, for some of our readers) riding in the Baby Bjorn. We took him out on Sunday for a short errand trip in the chilly weather…
… and they both looked ridiculously cute.
We’ve had lots of friend visits, and I’ve been trying to take pictures of Felix meeting people. I’m not too good at remembering, but here are just a few of Felix’s visitors.
The Bugaboo stroller may not come with a cup holder, but it DOES come with a cat holder. Who knew?
I can’t believe Felix is two months old already. As you can see from the pictures, he seems to have mastered the whole smiling thing.
Also, whoever thought that mix tapes would be an awesome pattern for baby pajamas was totally right.
After a bit of last-minute schedule-shifting, we all headed out to Long Island for Christmas. Felix got some more quality time in with his uncle Andrew and aunt Kristin, and even got a couple kisses from his cousin Robbie.
Felix was a bit grumbly due to some… waste elimination problems, but seemed to enjoy hanging out with the family, especially in the rocking chair. Giles and I even got a break from constant diaper changing, since there were several (strangely) willing volunteers for changing duty.
You may notice there are several pictures of cats in the gallery. Those are Jenny (who is very old) and Topher (who is very fat). Topher used to be 33 pounds, but is now down to a comparably svelte 19 or so, and sporting some delicious headgear.
As a direct result of Grandma’s severe baby shopoholism, Felix now has WAY more clothing than Giles and is even giving me a run for my money (and if we only count clothes that FIT, he definitely wins). He also scored with a giant pile of toys – which, at least until Felix masters the whole hand-control thing, Fuzz will likely get more use out of than Felix will.
The next morning, Boxing Day, back at home, we all woke up to a leisurely morning and opened the presents we’d saved under the tree. Continuing a pattern, most were for Felix. But, Giles saved the best present for last when he proposed! My response? OF COURSE! (complete with verbal ALL-CAPS). I’m not sure that Felix really appreciated the enormity of the situation, but at least he had the courtesy not to sleep through it. 🙂
